Catch All the Action of Wildcard Weekend at Tailgate Social
THE PLAYOFFS KICK OFF WITH THREE DAYS OF FOOTBALL FUN AT TAILGATE SOCIAL
It’s the first round of the playoffs, and due to the way it’s seeded, there’s bound to be some upsets and surprises. For those who need a refresher, this week the second-seeded division winner hosts the seventh-seeded wild card, the third hosts the sixth, and the fourth hosts the fifth per conference. What makes this Wildcard Weekend even whackier is that all six matches are rematches from earlier this year. There are six high-stakes games over a period of three days, so don’t miss a second of the action–come watch Wildcard Weekend at Tailgate Social!
The first matchup of the weekend is the no. 7 Seattle Seahawks against the no. 3 San Francisco 49ers for the NFC. The weather in California is forecasted to have more heavy rainfall for a game that without the aesthetically pleasing Jimmy G already wasn’t going to be very Purdy. Tune in at 1:30 PM Pacific to see if the lowest-ranked quarterback to ever start a playoff game somehow handles the highest amount of rainfall in an NFL game.
The AFC matchup of the game starts at 5:15 PM Pacific and features the Los Angeles Chargers versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, the latter coming off a last-minute thwarting of the Titans to secure their spot. Earlier in the season, the Jaguars tromped the Chargers 38-10, so watch to see if the Jaguars still have the winning flow—besides Trevor Lawrence’s hair.
The Sunday morning matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills is going to be emotional even for the Tin Man after the miraculous release of Damar Hamlin from the hospital this week and the news that twice-concussed Tua Tagovailoa will not be playing. While the Dolphins and Bills each won one of the season series games, it’s looking like this game is set to be a BuffaHIGH, not a BuffaLOW.
At 1:30 PM Pacific, the No. 6 New York Giants will take on the No. 3 Minnesota Vikings for a match that has the potential to razzle and dazzle. At their match-up in Week 16, Greg Joseph hit a 61-yard winning field goal but Adoree’ Jackson and Xavier McKinney were out and did not have a chance to flex. While the game is taking place in Minnesota with a forecasted high of a balmy 38 degrees, both teams are winter warriors, so the playing field will be about as even as it gets for two playoff teams.
MONDAY NIGHT GAME
No work on Monday means there’s plenty of time to play, so there’s no excuse why your caboose shouldn’t be on a barstool at Tailgate Social to watch the Baltimore Ravens take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The game starts at 5:15 PM Pacific, so there’s plenty of time to dine, have a few brews, and be home in time to watch the highlights on the nine o’clock news. What a great way to cap off a wonderful Wildcard Weekend at Tailgate Social!
